On Wednesday, Oct. 16, Wintek gathered our local communities' brightest minds and most influential leaders to explore what's new and what's next for information technology.

Wintek Business Solutions was honored to host the inaugural Lafayette Tek Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Convergence @ Discovery Park on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.

This free, daylong summit united our local communities’ brightest minds and influential leaders for a day dedicated to exploring what’s new and what’s next for information technology — including opportunities to network and collaborate, and inspiring and informative journeys through trends and advancements in:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Artificial intelligence
  • IT management solutions, and more

Schneider Electric and Epic Insurance sponsored the event, along with in-kind contributions from Cisco Meraki and The National Group.

More than 70 local IT innovators attended, representing 49 diverse organizations. Jason Monroe, the customer experience practice leader for Wintek Business Solutions, served as the master of ceremonies for the event — which kicked off with a presentation from JP Messina, associate professor of philosophy at Purdue University, on navigating the ethical implications of AI in the business world.

Lena Morris, founder and CEO of Authentic Encounters, offered practical strategies in soft skills for technology leaders to help them bridge communication gaps. John Lales, a software account executive at Schneider Electric, demonstrated software used for real-time infrastructure monitoring.

After lunch, a panel of Lafayette-area business leaders gathered to discuss local entrepreneurship, innovation and collaboration, including:

Tim Bennett from U.S. Risk and Matt Metzger from The Mitchell Agency discussed the essential role of cybersecurity insurance for businesses moving forward. For the summit’s final session, Kevin Thomas, co-founder of Contextual Security Solutions, offered a workshop on cyber-safety meant to help businesses strengthen their digital fortresses.

Thank you to all of our speakers, as well as those who attended throughout the day. Wintek Business Solutions is proud to bring together the best from our community to continually advance IT innovations.
